AMALA (BLACK YAM FLOUR)Friday, April 18, 2014

1 cup of yam flour powder (4.5oz)

Hot water

1         Place a pot on a medium heat, add 2 cups of water and allow to boil

2.        Put the wooden spatula (orogun) in the boiling water

3.        Pour the yam flour powder slowly in the boiling water and use the wooden spatula to stir until all the  powder is incorporated with the water (make sure to start stirring when you start pouring the flour in the hot water) and stir properly to have a smooth texture

4.        Add ¼ cup of water to it; allow to boil, stir altogether until smooth

5.        Scoop into a plate with flat plastic bowl and serve with your choice of soup

- You have to watch out when making it whether you are going to need more or less yam flour for the measurement above.
